Our Governing Body meet two or three times each term.  We also have a pay committee, which meets once a year to make decisions about staff pay.

Jan is a co-opted Governor to Beamont Primary School along with another school within the WPAT.  She has enjoyed a wonderfully varied career in Primary Education having had experience of both the state and independent sectors in UK and abroad.  Jan has held a variety of senior management and advisory roles. She was Headteacher of a large multicultural international school in Nairobi, Kenya and continues her international work with an educational charity in Goa, India. Jan is passionate about education and in particular, the importance of building strong foundations within the EYFS and KS1. She believes that ‘children are candles to be lit and not vessels to be filled’ and that every child, wherever they are in the world, deserves the highest quality of education, regardless of their circumstances. ‘Children First’ has always been her mantra. Jan is looking forward to supporting and working with the Beamont Team.

Karen is the Headteacher of Beamont Primary School, and she could not be more proud of the school and all of it's progress and achievements. This is her second headship in Warrington and is a role she loves doing. She considers working with the children and staff of Beamont every day to be a wonderful gift. She has two children of her own, one aged 15 now attending high school, and one aged 8 who is in Year 4 of a local Warrington primary school.

Jo is proud to be part of the team striving to improve and enhance the  children's school lives, and to contribute her time and energy to the strategic decisions that will make a difference to all children at the school. Jo became a Governor as she is passionate about organisational improvement and assisting, indirectly, the education of individual pupils to ensure they reach their potential.

Claire is a Co-opted Governor here at Beamont Primary School along with another Primary School within the WPAT. She is approaching her 7th year as a Primary School Teacher and has taught every year group within Primary and Early Years Education. Having taught in a Primary School in Warrington for four years, Claire now teaches Year 6 in a Halton Primary School where she also leads PE, RE, PSHE and the Relationships Curriculum. She has achieved the following qualifications in Higher Education; a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Early Years Professional Practice and Leadership, the Early Years Teacher Status, the Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Education, the Master Middle Leadership Qualification, a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and the Chartered Management Institute Award in Strategic Leadership. Claire taught in Beamont for a term back in 2015 when she completed a secondment from a local primary. She is very excited to be a governor at Beamont where she feels she can work in a strong team to make a difference to the lives of the children.

Justin has lived in Warrington for over forty years and is currently a Management Consultant for his own company. He has many years of previous experience leading large teams within the Facilities Management Industry. The majority of his work has been within Education and the Healthcare sector across the country, Justin is very passionate about helping to ensure all children have the best possible start to their education journey. Justin is very proud to be positively contributing to the Governors board here at Beamont and hoping to share some of his experience with everyone involved.

Helen has experience in Office and Customer Service Management and a strong background in Accountancy in both public and private sectors.  In her current role as Business Officer at Warrington Primary Academy Trust Central Team, she provides support to both the Finance Manager and the Estates Manager across all schools within the Multi Academy Trust.

Peter Barry

Peter Barry

Peter lives in Warrington, has been a school governor in the town and is a serving member of
Warrington Borough Council's Independent Admission Appeal and Exclusion Review Panels. His background is in education as a teacher and school leader, including ten years as a Secondary Headteacher and eight years running Education and Training in a prison.
Peter believes strongly that all children have the right to a first class education, regardless of
background or circumstances, to give them the best possible start in life; and that this kind be
achieved by the pursuit of excellence in whatever role we have in the team that delivers at
Beamont Primary Academy.
